Anything the system column names that the list above does not recognise; it is read by its accounts, not by its system. The checker reads the system column to group the accounts; the findings come from the other columns, the same way for every system.
What the export usually carries
For a system the dictionary does not place, the checker reads the same columns as for any other: account, owner, enabled, last used, last changed, last reviewed. Where a column is missing the line says so rather than guessing.
What the checker most often raises here
- 3. No owner named, or a team named with no accountable person: The account is not a personal account and its owner cell is blank, "unknown", "TBC" or similar, or names a team, a department or a mailbox with no accountable person named beside it. When an accountable, approver or owner of record column names a person for the team, this finding does not fire; with a staff list, that person is checked like any owner (left is finding 2, not in the list is a question).
- 4. Dormant for more than the threshold: The account is enabled or its status is not recorded, it is not a break-glass account, and its last used date is more than the threshold you set (default 90 days) before the as-at date. With CIS Controls ticked, more than 45 days (CIS 5.3) also fires; with PCI DSS ticked, more than 90 days (8.2.6) fires on user accounts. An account never used fires when its created date is older than the same periods. Exactly the period never fires.
- 10. Not reviewed within the interval: The list has a last reviewed column, and this account's cell is blank or older than the interval you set (default 12 months) before the as-at date. With PCI DSS ticked, user accounts also fire at more than 6 months (7.2.4); with CIS Controls ticked, every account at more than 12 months (6.8). Exactly the interval never fires. Without the column, the finding does not fire and every line says the column is missing.
- 6. Password or key not changed within the period, or never: The last changed date is more than the period you set (default 365 days) before the as-at date, or the list says never. With PCI DSS ticked, a user account whose MFA does not read yes also fires at more than 90 days (8.3.9); with MFA not recorded that line is a question. For a system account under PCI DSS 8.6.3 the period is your targeted risk analysis, and the one you set stands in for it.
